Egypt hosted work meetings of Joint Coordination Committee between ASRT and JINR

The annual meeting was held to evaluate the outcomes of the international scientific cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russian Federation. The meeting discussed what was executed previous year and the roadmap of the next year. The meeting was headed by President of ASRT Prof. Mahmoud Sakr and Vice Director of JINR Prof. Richard Lednický. The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting in Cairo, came within the partnership between the two sides since 2009, aiming at expanding research areas for Egyptian young researches through joint researches and projects between the two ASRT and JINR. The said areas of research included theoretical physics, nanotechnology applications, material science and condensed matter, relative nuclear physics, nuclear applications in medicine and pharmacology, radiation studies of ecology computing and networks and physics of heavy ions.

The fruitful cooperation resulted in organizing 7 summer schools in Dubna attended by 130 Egyptian  researchers and assistant lecturers and lecturers form universities and researcher centers. 20 joint projects were executed, 70 researches were published in reputable scientific journals and magazines as a part of the funded activities within the agreement. 2015 witnessed a celebration ceremony of 5 years of successful collaboration between ASRT and JINR.
