Under auspices of his Excellency Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ashraf El-shehy, ASRT Council of Scientific Research code of Ethics held a workshop on "Ethics of Science and Technology applications of national projects in Jan, 10th, 2107 in the main conference room ASRT.
The workshop gave opportunity to decision makers to constitute a comprehensive vision about the strategic relationship between scientific research institutions and the projects were done by such national projects, and the importance for inter-cooperation between them. The workshop was attended by scientists and specialists concerned with codes of ethics of scientific research. The workshop tackled a conclusion of a study on "code of ethics blog" compromised of practices and mechanisms that guaranteed success and sustainable development to national projects included in the study, and they were:
1-Suze Canal development project 2.
2-Sinai Peninsula development project.
3-The project of reclamation of 1,5 million acres.
4- The golden triangle development project "governorates of Quna, Safaga, and El-kosier.
As the main objective of the workshop was to provide decision makers with all cons and pros to help them to take accurate decision based on facts, therefore, the workshop discussed the importance of including a unit for scientific research in the structural organization of each project. The main function of such unit is to follow up the accuracy of science and technology applications and improve practices of various projects to be updated with the latest scientific applications.
The ethical dimension supports and enhances the efforts to achieve the targets of Egyptian developmental program, which includes for example, but not limited to, agricultural field and its importance on both economic and social levels to secure food. Therefore, more studies should be directed to enhancing soil natural and chemical features. Also, as a due of water scarcity, novel irrigation systems should be applied. Rational water use is important issue considering critical effects of wasting water on the developmental program including metrological activities in Sinai and golden triangle area.
